Luton Brass Band

Founded in 1883, Luton Band played at concerts and in competitions the length and breadth of the country for nearly 120 years. Their finest moment came in 1923 when it won the national championship at Crystal Palace, the southernmost English brass band to achieve the honour.
Luton Band was London and Southern Counties champions on several occasions, but competed for the last time in 2002.
In September 2019, a new Brass band came to Luton. With links to the town and even the original Luton Band, musicians from the area came together to form the Luton Brass Band. The band is keen to pick up on the great tradition of Brass Band music making left by the former Luton Band, and aim to reach the same high standards in this new era of Brass Banding.
