Musical Director

David Edmonds had his musical upbringing through the Salvation Army. At the age of 6 he started to learn to play the Cornet and subsequently joined the junior band at the Dunstable Salvation Army.

Music became a huge influence to David as he continued to develop as he grew. He started to attend Salvation Army Music Camps in the UK and then joined Local Youth Bands which really pushed him as a player. David then gained an interest in writing music. This lead to him composing and arranging music for the Salvation Army's Brass Band publications.

To date, David has many publications for both Salvation Army and other Brass Band catalogues. This include publications in the UK, USA, Canada and Holland.

David is still a member of the Salvation Army holding the seat of Principal Cornet for the Dunstable Salvation Army as well as playing in the Salvation Army's Household Troops Band. The band travel the world playing music and subsequently have featured David's music in many programs around the UK and the World, and recorded many of them too.

David has experience in playing for concert Bands, Orchestras and Pit bands for local productions but stays true to his Brass routes having played for MK Brass and St. Albans in both contests and Concerts. He then took on the leadership of the Hemel Hempstead Band in 2015.

We are delighted that David has joined us from the very start of our journey and look forward to what the future will bring under his leadership and guidance.
